Downtown Council’s Symbolic Start
It’s not all arguments and negotiations when it comes to the formation efforts for the Downtown Neighborhood Council (DNC). Here is an artist’s rendition of a pin that has been designed for the DNC, which is in the process of seeking certification. The pin will be plenty colorful, with “Santa Ana Yellow,” “Tomato Kiss Red” and “Mid-Afternoon Grey” in the design. It will serve as an unofficial insignia for now. A logo for the group will likely follow certification and the election of a board of directors. The pin was designed by Qathryn Brehm, who resides in the Art District and has been active in the DNC’s formation efforts. The Fashion District Business Improvement District (BID) and the Garment & Citizen split the tab for the production of 1,000 pins as goodwill gestures.
